About

June is the month of the Sacred Heart of Jesus

The Christian tradition of marking the month of June as the month of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and flying the Sacred Heart flag goes back over 400 years.

The Catholic parish of St Mary Magdalen’s, East Hill would like to continue the tradition and celebration in Wandsworth.

We organised a prayerful procession on 14 June 2025, walking from St Mary Magdalen parish to and around Wandsworth Town Hall, and then returning to the parish.

The procession began at 11:30 (following the 10:30 Mass), and lasted around 60 minutes. Both Catholics and non-Catholics were welcome.

There was an overwhelming response to continuing the procession. Therefore, preparations for the 2026 Sacred Heart Procession are underway.

The 2026 Procession will take place on Friday 12th June at 8.00pm after the Mass for the Feast of the Sacred Heart. To find out more about it click on the link below.

St Thérèse of Lisieux prayer to the Sacred Heart of Jesus

O my God! I offer Thee all my actions of this day for the intentions and for the glory of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. I desire to sanctify every beat of my heart, my every thought, my simplest works, by uniting them to its infinite merits; and I wish to make reparation for my sins by casting them into the furnace of its Merciful Love.

O my God! I ask of Thee for myself and for those whom I hold dear, the grace to fulfil perfectly Thy Holy Will, to accept for love of Thee the joys and sorrows of this passing life, so that we may one day be united together in heaven for all Eternity.

Amen
