Here is a progress report about the 14 June procession to fly the Flag of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
- Re the meeting on 16 March: Good input from Carmel, Dan and Tracy. The people attending made several helpful suggestions.
- We have produced a leaflet and a paragraph for Parishes to display which can be found on this website as downloads. If you are involved in other parishes you might want to approach the priest and let him know. Spread the word not only in any other parish you are involved with but in any WhatsApp groups you think might be supportive!
- We have written to all the Catholic parishes in the Deanery plus many non-catholic churches in the area.
- The Met Police have been notified about the Procession.
- We have also drafted a leaflet to give to passers-by on 14 June to explain ourselves! It is not on the Website yet, but available on request. “Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have” 1 Peter 3:15
- The banner for the Procession has been ordered. Now all we need are two strong people to carry it!
- We ask for volunteers to help on the day itself; do send in your name and we can match you with a task – after negotiations, of course! Don’t be shy!
- Finally, for the Procession Day itself, please bring your own Sacred Heart flag and wear something red.
